SOILWORK Frontman On 'Attitude Inked' (Video)
February 5, 2013Attitude Clothing has released episode 1 of "Attitude Inked", a new online tattoo series that sees metal moguls being interviewed whilst under the needle at one of London, England's premiere tattoo studios, The Circle.
Episode 1 features Björn "Speed" Strid, lead singer of Swedish powerhouse SOILWORK, having an anchor tattooed on his leg in reference to the band's latest album artwork for "The Living Infinite". The vocalist also adds some script on each wrist that reads the names of his home villages back in Sweden.
"It's a good thing to have these kind of memories. If I'm moving to Canada, I'll have these with me forever," explains Strid, who splits his time between Toronto, where he has a Canadian girlfriend, and Sweden.
Speed is tattooed by Math, a top-class tattooist who has been featured in many publications, most recently Skin Deep. He is the owner of The Circle tattoo shop, which can be found seconds away from the historic department store Liberty, on the edge of Soho, in Central London.
"The Living Infinite" will be unleashed on February 27 in Asia (via license to Marquee Records),in Europe on March 1, and in North America on March 5 through Nuclear Blast Records. Produced by Jens Bogren (OPETH, AMON AMARTH, BLOODBATH),the CD features artwork by MNEMIC's Mircea Gabriel Eftemie.
"The Living Infinite" features Justin Sullivan — lead singer of the English band NEW MODEL ARMY — as a guest vocalist on the track "The Windswept Mercy" and also marks the recording debut of longtime SOILWORK touring guitarist David Andersson (also of THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA).
SOILWORK's world tour launches with a 55-show headlining trek through the U.S. and Canada this March. Support will come from JEFF LOOMIS, BLACKGUARD, THE BROWNING and WRETCHED.
